I was talking to the missus the other day...

I was talking to the missus the other day, and she reckons I don’t listen to her.  “C’mon babe” I said, “of course I listen to you!” So I had a think about it to see if I could work out why she’d think I don’t listen to her. Then it dawned on me… she doesn’t mean I don’t listen to her, what she means is I don’t listen to the little subtle and even sometimes subliminal messages she is trying to send me.
 
We all know that for blokes women can be complex, they are not easy to understand like a bloke.  So why, or even how, am I expected to listen to her and hear these messages which are hidden beneath other words and actions?  Maybe I am being a bit daft and the messages are not as invisible as I think they are…
 
So what can I do?  
 
Look guys, I don’t think we can be expected to change our wiring and fight the millennia of evolutionary forces, and I don’t think we can expect the women in our life to do the same.  Maybe it is just a matter of taking note of the hints and storing them in the filing cabinet of our minds for future use. It could be remembering something she says that she likes, remembering something we did to make her happy, and then putting that into action in the future.  I think we can expect the same from the girls, and due to their wiring, I think they are much better at these things than us which is why we never say that they don’t listen to us!!!
 
When it comes down to it, I reckon there is a simple formula to success.  If you can at least try to truly listen to your missus, then that will go a long way towards making her happy… and a happy missus makes for an even better day!!!
